Once upon a time, back in the good old days of the Chicago Rockabilly Scene,
back when bands like the Deacons, HI FI and the Roadburners, and the new upstarts
the Moondogs ruled the roost, there was a surf band lurking in those murky waters.
Who was this band, it was the Greaseballs. OK, so maybe they weren't 100% surf, but they were 100% guitar instrumental. Well, as the eighties closed so did the band, and a couple of their members moved away from Chicago, but they would get back together every couple of years and play a show in their
hometown.
On one such visit, back in 1997, they went into the studio and recorded a CD's worth of material, and hence "Wake Up And Smell The Greaseballs" was born.
Chicago has been a central place for many bands and is still a city of intoxicating live music. People are flocking to the windy city finding apartments for rent to make there attendence loud.
