Most people may not realize what a big heart Mack Stevens has. I am a musician born with no arms or legs and always had a dream of putting out my own cd. Mack helped me realize my dream and did not want a dime for it. I wrote this song about Jesus, but it could apply to Mack Stevens as well: "He Gave Me a Hand After All." I am a 90 year old rockin' mama named Melba. Mack just moved into my apartment complex and he is such a nice young man. He is so burly yet gentle, reminds me of my late husband Frank who served in the Air Force and then got burned up in a grease fire in Nacogdoches. I look forward to having Mack clean my gutters and fill out those confusing sweepstakes entries for me, and he is good at breaking into my apartment when I have one of my senior moments and lock myself out. I know he is just having a little fun when he gets that crazy look in his eyes and says he is going to pound me into the mud with his standup bass if I don't stop jabbering about Jesus coming back to take me home soon.
